CINEMA METRO
Ah, Cinema Metro—where lights still flicker like it’s always 1951.

Designed in Art Deco style, it's one of those places that makes you wish you could time travel.

When I drew it, a group of teenagers stood outside taking selfies, unaware that thousands before them once stood in line, dressed in suits and velvet gloves.

Built in 1940, inspired by Paris’ Metro Cinema, it was once a beacon of modern entertainment in the heart of Downtown. The spotlights, the velvet seats, the buzz of anticipation before the curtain rose—it was a place of dreams projected on a screen.

Now, it's a mix of old posters and peeling paint, yet its soul is intact. Sketching it felt like penning a love letter to Cairo’s cinematic past.

This building is not just a movie theater—it’s a capsule of what Cairo once aspired to be.
